Master Russ has been practicing the Martial Art of Tang So Doo for over 29 years and currently hold the rank of 6th Dan Master.  Master Tammy holds the rank of 5th Dan Master.  Master Russ is a Green Cove Springs native and met Master Tammy there.  Master Russ and Master Tammy Carter have been married for 36 years during which time he served our Country in the United States Marine Corps.  They are the proud parents of 3 children,  Master Grace Carter 6th Dan, 3rd Dan Chelsie Carter and Black Belt Tristan Carter.  (Grace Carter is now Grace Hope Alvarez and with her Husband Jaimie they are the proud parents of our first Grandson, Juliyan Celo Bayne Alvarez.)  They attend Russell Baptist Church in Green Cove Springs.

Master Russ starting his teaching career as a Blue Belt at the former Green Cove Springs Pak’s Karate. He knew he had a desire to teach the art of Tang Soo Do and have his own school at that point. When he became a 2nd degree black belt, an opportunity presented itself.  Russ and Tammy started teaching their own students through an after school program in a Daycare Center and a Church. They taught those students for two years before opening in their first martial arts school in Keystone Heights, Florida 18 years ago.

Master Russ and Master Tammy wanted to offer families the same opportunity that they had by being able to take the martial arts as a family. They felt that teaching martial arts as a family brought them closer together. A Family that kicks together stays together!

In 2015 Masters Carters were able to take ownership of the Pak’s Karate Fleming Island School which was being run by Master Russ’s former Masters.  Master Russ and Master Tammy’s desire is to bring the best martial arts experience to all of their students. They believe that there is more to what they teach than just kicks or punches and their hope is for each student to improve Life Skills, Self-Discipline and Self-Defense.
